BLUE DOOR FINE ARTS
Maydelina Pérez-Lezcano was born in Camagüey, Cuba, in 1972, where she completed her studies in art. Maydelina’s intimate works transport the viewer to a world of symbols and meaning. In the text written for the exhibition catalogue De la Cruz a la Gloria, Roberto Méndez Martínez refers to Pérez-Lezcano’s work as “marked by the tradition of miniaturists in medieval scriptoriums and the fantasy of Flemish gothic art.” And when speaking about the final images, “a space that is used to its ultimate possibilities, with a virtuosity and a dread of emptiness that speak to a fertile imagination, where even the smallest detail has its particular meaning.” Maydelina Pérez-Lezcano has exhibited in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the United States, and has participated in collective exhibitions in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Nicaragua, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
